About Me

  • My husband and I  live in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, Canada (60 miles west of Toronto), in a quiet suburb on a corner lot.
  • I enjoy working in the garden, and often sit and reflect on the beauty of nature.  It is such a refuge from the sometimes hectic world in which we live.  I have written a brief testimony below regarding my faith in God.  I hope you will find it thought provoking and direct your thoughts toward heavenly things as this verse states:  "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. - Colossians 3:2

The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.

 Isaiah 9:2

  • I have added some Scripture verses to some of the photos on my site.  The reason for this is because of my desire to honor and revere the God who has saved me from my sins.  I became a born again Christian in December 1987.
  • I grew up in a small rural hamlet called Kinlough, which is located near Kincardine, Ontario.  I attended Sunday School and learned Bible stories and memorized the Ten Commandments.  In spite of this religious training, I didn't know God and knew no lasting peace or joy of knowing that I had eternal life.
  • As I entered my mid thirties, I began to experience an earnest desire to know God.  I began to read some books by a  woman named Corrie ten Boom.  She was a Dutch woman whose family had given refuge to Jews during World War II.  In her books, she spoke of knowing God and His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ in intimate terms.  I began to hunger to know God and His Son in this way.
  • I attended a ladies' Bible Study at a friend's church one morning just before Christmas in 1987.  A speaker told of getting up early in the morning to spend time with God.  She spoke of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  She invited anyone present to pray with her that "all their life, they had tried to do it themselves."
  •  I realized I had been trying to come to God on my own terms, with my own good works and righteousness.  I cried out to God in my heart, and asked Him to forgive my sins.  I understood for the first time in my life, that Jesus was the only way to God.  I asked Jesus to come into my heart and to cleanse me from my sins.  The reality of this verse became very real to me:  "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men,  the man Christ Jesus;  Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."  1 Timothy 2:5, 6
  • That eventful day was in over twenty years ago now,  and all through the years since, my Heavenly Father has become more precious to me.  He has been my constant companion, even as He promises in His Word ... Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. ... Hebrews 13:5

  • I cannot express in human language the reality of knowing the Lord God and His Son the Lord Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit.   He has abundantly blessed me and my family, and I know that my future is secure in Him. This hope is defined by this precious verse from the Bible - " Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;  - Hebrews 6:19
